» Tilly has Surgery
Published 07/21/2010
Tilly had surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London yesterday. The surgery was based upon trying to straighten her thumb which has been ravaged by the condition and has been in a permanent angled position for some time now. She had two narrow pins inserted and a slight cut internally inside the thumb to aid movement.
She is doing well and remains in good spirits, which is so typical of Tilly.
» What a night!!!

We sat 4-5 seats to the left of Simon Cowell and Oliver was next to Sinita, who chatted to him during the night and was lovely with him. Simon spotted Tilly as the judges came out at the beginning of the show and he acknowledged her waving to him. During the intervals Simon twice came over and talked, hugged and kissed Tilly. He is such a nice and genuine person, one in a million.
During the show Dermott O'Leary came over to hug Tilly and to chat with her. He told her that Tilly had made his night and he was now happy.
After the show Simon's staff escorted us through to the dressing room areas where we met Cheryl Cole, who was lovely and had pictures with Oliver, Tilly and ..........Me (sorry but). JLS spotted Tilly and made a huge fuss and posing for pictures with us all. We also met with the parents of JLS again and they were lovely with Tilly.
Both Oliver and Tilly were fast asleep after about 10 minutes of being in the car and are now having very sweet dreams.
Big thanks once again to Simon Cowell and his Team for another unforgettable experience x
Colin
ps - I will post pictures of the night at the end of the week.
» PLEASE READ - X FACTOR SHOW THIS SUNDAY
Published 10/29/2009
Tilly's 12th birthday and JLS appearing on the X Factor this coming weekend prompted me to call Simon Cowells PA this week. I was asking a lot really, given that Simon and Max Clifford were so kind last year to arrange for such a wonderful evening for Tilly last year and the subsequent kind donation from Simon. Also, we are not the only cases and I know that both Simon and Max continuosly work hard for so many good causes but I am Tilly's dad and want good things for such a brave daughter. Tilly was at GOSH yesterday again, monthly infusion this time which she hates, and had a rough time.
Simon's wonderful PA helped me to make Tilly's day, month, year by arranging not only for tickets for this Sundays live show but for Tilly to hopefully meet with JLS and Cheryl Cole!!! and I hope Simon as both Tilly and I think he is a wonderful man and want to thank him again.
I cant tell you how happy Tilly is, she has not stopped texting me all day which has made me so happy for her.
I hope to post a story and pictures after Sunday as it will be an unforgetable experience for Tilly, again!!!

My best friend at school, Damien Stevenson (see above), I had lost touch with some 15 years ago. He moved back to Bristol some 20 years ago and the last time, until recently, I saw him was at his wedding.
Damien decided to search for me through Facebook about 6 months ago and we made contact. We had a lot to catch up on, Damien has a lovely wife and two wonderful sons of 13 & 15. I obviously told him about Oliver and Tilly and he looked at the website to find out more. I went to stay with his family whilst on business in Bristol and we had a great time catching up and I could sense that he was touched by Tilly's difficult life.
Damien called me tonight and informed me that he trained for 5 months and recently ran 13 miles in Bristol for Tilly's fund! Damien has not exercised for 15 years+ but was so touched by Tilly that he said 'I had to do something, especially given our friendship and for such an incredible child'.
Damien and his family rallied round friends and colleagues and have helped to raise an amazing £1100 for the fund!!!
I am so grateful and blown away by Damien and his family for doing this for Tilly and I cannot thank you all enough.
Love Colin

Tilly is finally leaving for Washington DC next Saturday, September 22nd, with Research taking place from Monday 24th Sept.
Following the Research, Tilly will be transfered to Virginia during the first week of October to undergo hip surgery.
Feeling nervous now the time has come, but full of hope that Tilly can realise her dream to walk independantly.
There are so many kind people to thank for the past incredible year of raising funds for Tilly, it will take a lifetime for me to thank all of them.

Friday 13th July 2007 at The Venue' in London!!! I will finally be boxing in 3 weeks time! I have been training for a few weeks now and despite training 2-3 times a week, it's not getting any easier!!!
I have a brilliant trainer, Micky, at the Real Fight Club who is pushing me all the way in support of the up an coming event.
Alan Lacey, founder of The Real Fight Club, has been magnificent in helping myself and 'Tillys Appeal Fund'. He is informed me last week that the profit's raised by the intended auction event on the night will be donated to our cause. This kind support is very well appreciated but I am not surprised to be honest as Alan is a very decent man.
Colin in training with proud Tilly supporting her dad
For ticket information please contact: www.therealfightclub.co.uk The profits of the proceeds for sponsorship and the auction will be split between 'Tilly's Appeal Fund' and 'The Richard House Hospice'. The hospice opened recently in London and provides support and restbite to parents and their terminally ill children. We have access to a local hospice and know the incredible support that is given during the most difficult times faced by parents with terminally ill children.
Please offer your support by kindly offering to sponsor me, Tilly's dad, for the up and coming event!!! Should you wish to support by sponsoring, please email me: colinbailey828@btinternet.com
Looking forward to the event and to hopefully raising a helpful amount for both very good causes, with your support of course!!!
Kind regards

£500 Donation!

A close friend of ours, Ashley Smith, discussed Tilly's plight with a friend of his over the past few weeks. His friend was very touched by Tilly's story and, subsequently, decided to approach his Company to ask for support.
As a result of his approach a large financial City based company has very kindly donated £500 to the Fund.
We thanks you so much for your kindness in helping towards our daughter's plight.
