Friends of ours, Bob & Deborah Allen from my ex-Hambros Bank days, recently celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary (a feat in itself these days, well done!!!).Bob & Deborah decided to not accept any presents and instead, told all their guests that if they wanted to they could donate money instead.Tilly's Appeal Fund was lucky to know the incredibly kind and genuine couple. Only last year they helped other friends, Chris Jeakins, Trevor Heaps, Simon Bearman, Ashley Smith etc with a golf day at the Warren. They day raised an amazing £9000c!Obviously they named Tillys Fund along with the worthy McMillan Cancer Fund.We have received a total of £600 from their kind friends and through their incredibly kind thought.Thank you so much x

Tilly went to School this morning and she absolutely loved every minute! As we entered the gates a group of Tilly's friends spotted her and their faces lit up as they greeted Tilly. It was a lovely moment, especially as Oliver entered the School with Tilly for the first time.Tilly's one to one carers were only informed last night, but they were both in early to organise Tilly's day, which was kind and greatly appreciated.Debra picked Tilly up at 12noon and then took her on to re-hab at GOSH in London.

Possible Delay of Homecoming

We are currently waiting for news of the continuation of Tilly's re-habilitation in England. We now have an idea of the estimated realistic timeframe to get Tilly to walk independantly, 9-12 months, and we are obviously witnessing the difficulty due to Tilly's years of suffering and lack of all-round mobility. We will make a decision this week to either return, if we know re-hab will continue immediately, or to stay a further 2-3 weeks. We are so proud of her efforts and her will throughout this incredibly difficult experience. She has suffered incredible pain following the operations, including two spells in Intensive Care, but her will has been amazing. She has spoken every day about how she will walk and play like her friends. Not too much to ask? Well, unfortunately in Tilly's case, it is as you all know she has suffered so much for so long. We even got carried away with the dream that she would return and be walking, without thinking about how difficult Tilly's life is on a day-by-day basis. She will get there and we have to be patient to realise the dream for Tilly. We took Tilly and Oliver to see the 3-D concert of Hannah Montanna this afternoon and they both loved every minute!!! We all wore special glasses throughout the show, Dennis Norden specials, and the effects were amazing!!! I will post a picture of Tilly following the show in her 3-D glassess shortly. Thanks to all friends who continue to post kind messages of support, they are all shown to Tilly and Oliver and very well received.Kind regardsColin

Counting Down The Days!

As communicated in the previous Blog, we are still due to return on the 27th February. Tilly is working hard for fours each day from Monday to Friday at the National Rehabilitation Center in Washington DC.We had a meeting last week and asked the question of what is a realistic timeframe for Tilly to be walking. The response was an estimation of nine months so we are in communication with GOS in London to seek continuation of the programme. The timing of this will depend on our return as we dont want to delay what has been started and, to date, what has been deemed a success. Will keep you posted. We took both Oliver and Tilly to see the stage show of 'High School Musical' this week and they both thoroughly enjoyed the show. We were even lucky to meet Tilly's favourite carachter outside after and he signed Tilly's programme, much to Tilly's delight!!!Please keep your messages coming as I always print them for Tilly and they really brighten up Tilly's day. Thanks for reading!Kind regardsColin
