Hi I'm Tilly's dad and glad you have visited our site. I'm absolutely astounded at the response and offers of help from all sorts of people from as far away as Australia!
Debbie, Oliver, myself and Tilly thank you all so much for the support and love you've shown.

Tilly's Diary - Part Five
We are back at the NIH in Washington following the surgery in Virginia. We got our first invoice for part of the surgery costs and it was approximately $50,000.
The cast had to be cut at the bottom by a few inches on both legs as it was digging into Tilly's legs and could have proved a serious problem to her skin. Blood pressure and temperature a bit high at times and pain a problem at times due to the lack of mobility.
Tilly is getting very frustrated at being restricted to the hospital bed without much movement. Also she missess school and all her friends. A teacher at the hospital is trying to help with schooling during the day but Tilly keeps falling asleep during her sessions!
Dad is looking at apartments to rent for us, for me also when I leave hospital as an 'inpatient', as the room at the Inn could be stopped shortly. Apartments are very expensive in the area and scarce.
Oliver is talking very em...............American! The twang is there to be heard and our American friends out here are all laughing when they here him talk, he even answered to me with 'man' in one sentence! which was most disturbing!!! He will start school this monday at a beautiful place down the road from the hospital, so his accent will get worse!
Oliver has his last soccer game this Saturday and scored his first goal last week! The Team have been very nice to him and he goes with Dad every Saturday and Monday for game and practice respectively. In addition, Oliver now follows the Washington Capitals playing Ice Hockey as the Childrens Inn receive free tickets for all home games. This Saturday he will ride the ice cleaning machine at half time in front of the whole crowd and be on the giant screen!!!
Two more weeks in this horrible cast and then changed to a lesser cast with more flexibility. It's all part of the journey for me I'm afraid but there is a huge light at the end of this tunnel.
Dad will be returning home soon and hopes to be back as often as possible, I know he is very upset at the prospect of leaving me here. I am also upset and will miss him looking after me at night times.
Speak soon
Kind regards
