Colin Bailey
Hi I'm Tilly's dad and glad you have visited our site. I'm absolutely astounded at the response and offers of help from all sorts of people from as far away as Australia!

Debbie, Oliver, myself and Tilly thank you all so much for the support and love you've shown.

Happy New Year!!!

Tilly has just completed her first week of re-habilitation at the National Re-Hab Center in DC.

As ever, her will and determination has opened the eyes of the group and every day she has worked very hard.  The programme is scheduled to last for 6 weeks, but all depends on her progress.  We were a little surprised to hear the mention of walking frames and walking sticks as a possibility, as this was not what we expected.  We have a meeting with the Team this Wednesday to discuss all issues.

Myself and Debra are always commenting on the lovely homes around this area but Tilly is very quick in response ''err, horrible drive faster!!!  She is so desperate to get back to England bless her, she has her school photographs on her bed and keeps looking at them constantly.  She associates the US with pain and hospitals so I cant say I blame her for not wanting to be here or to come back ever again!

She is so desperate to see her school friends again, it's all she talks about.  Whenever I do something wrong she tells me she will tell Ms Bailey or Ms Blake, teachers at her school, when we return and then I will be in trouble!!!  I am taking her today, after school work, to get her hair and nails done locally and she has told me she wants to look like Ms Bailey, which shows how much she thinks of home and is pining to be there.....

We are going to the Ice Hockey tomorrow and Tilly has developed a little crush on the Caps goalkeeper, Oleg Kolzig, since meeting him at the Inn at Christmas.  Oliver loves going to the Caps games and I must say we are very lucky to receive free tickets as it is a great atmosphere.  Oleg and his wife donate 12 tickets to most of the Washington Capitals home games, which is very kind.

Good luck to everybody in the New Year and thanks for following Tilly's story, I will update further this week.

Kind regards

Colin
